Men's and Women's High School Swim Coach 

 

A high school swim coach's primary responsibilities include planning and conducting practices, instructing swimmers in techniques, and motivating athletes to achieve their goals, while also ensuring a safe and positive environment. 

 

 

 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Planning and Execution of Practices:
    • Develop and implement practice plans that focus on improving technique, conditioning, and race strategies. 
       
    • Conduct practice sessions, providing instruction and feedback to individual swimmers and the team as a whole. 
       
    • Assess swimmer performance and adjust training plans accordingly. 
       
  • Instruction and Coaching:
    • Teach and train proper swimming techniques, including stroke mechanics, breathing, and starts/turns. 
       
    • Motivate and encourage swimmers to reach their full potential. 
       
    • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to individual swimmers and the team. 
       
  • Team Management and Organization:
    • Maintain team records, including attendance, meet results, and swimmer progress. 
       
    • Communicate effectively with swimmers and parents regarding team information, meet schedules, and individual progress. 
       
    • Organize team travel and ensure proper supervision of athletes at meets. 
       
  • Safety and Supervision:
    • Ensure the safety of swimmers in and around the pool area. 
       
    • Enforce pool rules and regulations. 
       
    • Be knowledgeable in first aid and CPR. 
       
  • Other Duties:
    • Attend team meetings and training sessions. 
       
    • Participate in school events and activities related to the swim team. 
       
    • Assist with fundraising and other team activities.
